Lucas Wachs, the Oregon-grown, hard-charging, bike-ripping, big-line skiing madman, has done it again. In coordination with Level 1 and a handful of some of the best skiers in North America, Lucas created one of our favorite projects of 2023, “Lost in Thought.” Sometimes, a ski film will catch you off guard. It’ll pull you away from the tasks at hand, and next thing you know, 20 minutes flew by. As far as you’re concerned, you were smiling & skiing pow the whole time.
That’s the kind of film “Lost in Thought” is. No narrative, nothing complicated (except for the insane skiing.) Just a glorious full-throttle run-through with good friends in great places. In an age when everyone has something to say, it’s just as nice to watch something that speaks for itself. Throughout the film, you’ll find appearances from Tim McChesney, Karl Fostvedt and a handful of other talented riders (we won’t spoil the surprises.) Notably however, Lucas grabs up the vast majority of screen time, and to say he does it justice would be an understatement. He’s one of the smoothest riders of our time and without a doubt one of the most complete in terms of style and ability on all manners of terrain. Hopefully we’ll see more of this LW and Level 1 union. Now go on, get lost with Lucas and friends!
