In late April, Orage announced the Orage Masters Clip Contest, which called upon the Masters teams to submit their best video edit showcasing the event from “their perspective.” $5,000 was up for grabs, and six of the eight total teams submitted clips for a shot at the prize purse. The rules were simple: the video that generated the most “Likes” on Facebook would be declared winner.
Today, the votes are in. And the award goes to (drumroll, please) … Line Traveling Circus! The TC crew wracked up more than 1,100 Likes, narrowly edging out the 4BI9 Mahalos. For their efforts, the gang walks away with 5K in cold hard cash, along with the ultimate bragging rights.
“The nice thing about having 40 film-skiers and a bunch of camera jockeys all in one place is that just about anything and everything gets caught on tape,” said Mike Nick, mastermind of the Orage Masters and brand Marketing Director. “We offered the teams an opportunity to edit together a short clip that had something to do with the event. Simple.” A wise decision, indeed, as the six edits that were submitted are quite spectacular—each highlighting the outrageous event, which will go down in skiing lore as one of the all-time greats.
Congrats to the Traveling Circus on the win, and thanks to those who cast their votes. With the Clip Contest all wrapped up, Orage Masters 8 is officially in the books. For now, we can only hope that the event returns for its 9th installation next season.
