TGR and MSP drop electric trailers for their upcoming fall films – It’s never too early to get fired up for winter

An intensely hot sun beats down you, with little or no concept of the word ‘remorse’. Your body clings to the water it’s given throughout the day, using it nearly as quickly as it is given. The ground in the distance seems to sway like ripples in the ocean as the heat emanates upward. You long for a simple blast of cold air; or better still, for just one velvety turn, one poetic moment as the skis beneath your feet effortless glide, the snow in front of you parts in slow motion, and the thoughts evaporate from your head while a smile spreads onto your face. Soon… soon, but not yet.

But in our darkest hour, when we find ourselves wondering if we’ll ever see the cold smoke of winter again, ski movie trailers come to us like hero’s from above! Industry giants Teton Gravity Research and Matchstick Productions have both released trailers for their upcoming annual films. With new and old faces alike, the skiers featured have the same high level of skiing in store for us this fall. With a consistent style you’ve come to know, TGR and MSP have become the faces of the world of ski cinema through years of dedication. Enjoy the latest from these icons.

‘Magic Hour’ – Teton Gravity Research

From TGR – For 27 years, Teton Gravity Research has been hunting for the right place, with the right crew, at the right time, to find these fleeting moments. Somewhere between the joy of the hunt and the magical experience of floating down a mountain, we have found that the magic hour is different for everyone and not necessarily dependent on the time of day, but the sum of an experience becoming greater than its parts.

Ultimately the culmination of these moments manifest into something bigger every fall when celebrated and shared in our annual snow film’s magic hour.

From MSP – The sport of skiing is unquestionably one of the most diversified recreational pursuits imaginable. By the time a lifelong skier reaches middle age, he or she has likely dabbled in or fully dedicated him or herself to a myriad of facets within the sport. Each facet provides an entirely new set of experiences, thrills, challenges and rewards.

Matchstick Productions 2022 ski film explores this world of opportunities through the eyes of a 12 year-old freestyle phenomenon. Through his voice, the audience hears the skiing aspirations of such a 12 year-old, a kid who just wants to play and doesn’t have to ponder “real life” quite yet. The core of this film is packed with a star studded cast of skiers shredding across the globe.
