Simon Dumont partners with all-new 360 degree POV camera brand 360Fly

X Games champion and freeskiing stud Simon Dumont has officially teamed up with a new POV camera brand 360fly. Unlike other popular point of view products, the mountable camera produces a 360 degree image, for users to capture everything that is going on around them in the heat of the moment.

“There are a ton of action cameras on the market today, but none of them raise the bar and push the future in the manner of 360fly,” said Dumont. “I was immediately blown away by initial demonstrations of the camera’s 360 degree format. But my interest went to another level when I experienced the interactive nature of the video, which is something that only 360fly is offering. In freeskiing, the possibilities of this technology are seemingly endless.”

I’m sure can expect to see some pretty darn cool footage coming from the Dumont and 360fly. Until then, check out the promotional video above, and visit 360fly.com for more on the product.

Press Release provided by 360Fly:

Simon Dumont makes aerial 360s look easy. But the highly decorated freeskiing icon will soon be known for a different kind of 360. 360fly, Inc., the category creator in 360 degree digital products, today announced a strategic partnership with Dumont that will have him putting the innovative 360 degree action camera through the paces. The relationship provides Dumont with exclusive early access to the camera, while providing 360fly with an extremely relevant and compelling case study that explores and develops the on-going use of its cutting-edge video format in action sports.

Dumont is the holder of nine total Winter X-Games medals, three of which are gold, and owns the world record for the highest air achieved on a quarter pipe. Dumont is also a multi-time winner and inaugural champion of the Dew Tour and the Honda Ski Tour, respectively. The Bethel, ME native began competing professionally in 2003, winning his first X-Games gold medal in 2004.

Considered one of the best freeskiers in the world, his achievements and recognition were a major motivator in the incorporation of freeskiing in the Olympic Winter Games in 2014.

“Our goal is to align with athletes who can demonstrate the possibilities of 360 degree video and Simon is certainly up to this task,” said Alan Pitney, CEO of 360fly. “Anyone who’s seen the incredible things that Simon does on – or should I say, ‘above’ – the slopes will understand why we’re so excited to see the amazing content he will capture.”

In addition to his on-going efforts to develop content, Dumont will actively promote 360fly in a variety of ways, including public appearances, media interviews, social media, and, while on the hill, showcasing the brand logo on his skis.
