Boreal Mountain Resort, located in Soda Springs, California is celebrating its 50th anniversary this season. In lieu of the feat, the resort will host the first annual Boreal Banked Slalom & Brewfest on Sunday, February 22. The event, a costumed race to benefit the High Fives Foundation, a Tahoe-based 501.c.3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for athletes who have suffered a life-altering injury while pursuing their dream in the winter action sports community.
The ski race features a unique and creative banked slalom course showcasing both natural and terrain-park elements. Teams of four are encouraged to compete together in the team category and all entrants are required to wear a costume of their choosing.
Following the race, the beer taps will flow as the outdoor brewfest with free live music kicks off on the Boreal deck, overlooking the mountain.
