Ah, what a treat it is to be back in downtown Aspen, Colorado, gearing up for FREESKIER magazine’s 17th Annual Ski Test. After a two-year hiatus, FREESKIER’s weeklong evaluation of the year’s newest skis is back at the world-renowned Aspen Mountain. Today, we uploaded 200-plus of next year’s skis to the top of “Ajax” amidst one of the biggest storms of Colorado’s 2018-19 winter. Tomorrow is going to, quite simply, kick ass.

For the next five days, we’ll be putting the best 2019-20 skis from skiing’s top brands to the test across Aspen Mountain’s 675 acres and 3,267 vertical feet of skiable terrain.

Our main goal is this: to provide you with a comprehensive list complete with first-hand reviews of next year’s best skis in FREESKIER’s Volume 22 Buyer’s Guide. If you’re in the market for a new pair of planks, the best testing skis of this week will be represented in the Buyer’s Guide, hitting newsstands in September 2019. (Click here to subscribe and get Volume 22 in your mailbox.)
