POW!!! (right in the face)

POW!!! (right in the face)

So I had this blog done for edit and was satisfied with the report on the snow conditions until I headed up for a few laps today. Whenever there is no new snow to satisfy your hunger, Whistler Blackcomb has the # 1 Terrain Park and it makes those stretches without fresh snow totally bearable. With the Park in great condition thanks to a crew of dedicated Park Rangers working their magic, it has been going off all season.

Que Old Man Winter… In the past 4 days we have had 60 cms of fresh snow, leaving most with nothing to do but slay some famous Whistler Pow! Usually picking a mountain to ski for the day is the priority. With the PEAK 2 PEAK gondola shooting the gap, commitment is now a thing of the past.(sorry ladies) With variety at your finger tips, the PEAK 2 PEAK is key in getting to the alpine lifts as they are cleared for opening.

With the holiday crowds thinning out, the mountain was a little more quite, lift lines were tiny and the face shots were continuous. I have done away with the saying “when it rains it pours” and replaced it with “when it snows it dumps”… in Whistler anyway. When you wake up to and look outside or at the snow report, it won’t take more then a second or so to get pumped on the fresh dump of white gold.

The forecast is calling a bit of sun mixed with more snow this week, another 20 plus if all goes to plan. If this is a sign of things to come, the second half of this season is gonna be off the hook.

Slay on minions!

PS. The avy danger is currently Considerable right now so don’t get carried away and go trekking into places you don’t know or are marked Closed. Always hang with buddies while skiing or ridding and let others know your plan!
