DISCLAIMER: The 2021 FREESKIER Ski Test is being held under strict Covid-19 protocols, ensuring everyone has tested negative for the virus, wears a mask and physically distances from others involved in the event.
Skiing under the sun never gets old—it’s as simple as that. Day three of FREESKIER’s 2021 Ski Test was filled with plenty of hoots and hollers, warm temps and beach vibes as our energetic gaggle of testers galavanted around a semi-slush Aspen mountain on a plethora of next year’s 101-110 millimeter skis, the ideal do-it-all planks for a day in the Rockies.
As far as mountains go, Aspen has everything a ski tester could dream of within a hot lap’s reach. Our ski connoisseurs pieced together beautiful lines consisting of fresh groomers, soft bumps, large hucks and steep bombers. It’s hard to imagine a better playground to put some all-mountain work horses to the test. A quick shoutout to the kind and courteous mountain and lift operations folks and, of course, Aspen Ski Patrol, for being the most gracious guardians on this wild hill. With snow in the forecast for the last day of testing—perfect conditions for the widest planks in the bunch—we made the most of our final day in the sun.
