In early February, amid the SIA Snow Show in Denver, Freeskier hosted its first-ever Photo Annual exhibition at the ArtHaus Gallery. One part party, one part fundraiser, the function drew a large group of professional skiers, industry folk and friends together to celebrate a season gone by via the year’s best photos.
On display were a collection of large prints showcasing the 2013 Photo Annual selections, in addition to a handful of our favorite Sarah Burke shots. All of the photographs were available for purchase through a silent auction, with the proceeds benefitting the Sarah Burke Foundation.
Today, a few months later—after tracking down the last bit of promised money—we are pleased to present a check for $4,704.35 to the foundation. The funds will support the group’s mission to further the generous ideals and spirit to which Sarah dedicated her life.
Given the success of the exhibition in its first go-round, we’ll be looking to make this an annual affair. We extend thanks once again to all who joined us in Denver for the occasion, in addition to the photographers who were generous enough to allow their work to be auctioned off.
