Wednesday evening, after another beautiful day of ski testing on Aspen Mountain, Freeskier’s flip cup tournament continued, this time from The Red Onion, located in downtown Aspen. Once again, #FreeskierFest attendees – from brand reps to pro skiers – gathered to relive their college days and achieve flip cup glory. After two hours spent guzzling beer, shouting obscenities and fierce competition, it was Boston Massacre, formerly Team Redemption, who once again defeated the Freeskier edit staff, dubbed Sons of Britches, in the finals. As that team has now won two of three events, it forces us to change up the format of our super finals, taking place from 4 to 6 p.m. at Sky Hotel/39 Degrees on Friday evening: the winner of Friday’s contest will now face Boston Massacre in a winner-take-all super final. At least, that’s the plan for the time being. Quite frankly: we’re more excited just to throw another party than to worry about the finer details.
Anyhow, if all goes to plan, there’s still a chance for you to reign supreme as flip cup champion. If you happen to be around Aspen on Friday, form a team of four, and do battle with the best flip cuppers this side of the Mississippi. Plus, the party scene at Sky Hotel/39 Degrees is sure to be outrageous: beautiful women, bumping tunes, hot tub, pool, delicious cocktails and more.
