FREESKIER Premiere Party Tour — Portland Recap

FREESKIER Premiere Party Tour — Portland Recap

Team FREESKIER is hitting the road again to celebrate the start of ski season. We’re teaming up with the best filmmakers in the industry to show you the latest and greatest movies followed by after parties that go late into the night.

Well, folks, FREESKIER’s Premiere Party Tour has finally come to a close. Following stops in Bozeman, Montana, Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, Crested Butte and Boulder, Colorado, the crew rolled into Portland, Oregon, for the final celebration of ski movie premiere season.

The weekend festivities kicked off on Saturday afternoon at the annual Snowvana Festival—the largest snowsports event in the state—with live music, craft beers and, of course, ski movie screenings. Featuring a special 30th Anniversary showing of Greg Stump’s Blizzard of Aaahs, Teton Gravity Research’s Far Out, amongst plenty of short films, the night was capped with a double whammy of movies from Matchstick Productions. Hoji, which premiered in Boulder last week, played in the early evening, while All In was the final showing of the night. But things were just getting started.

Over at Century—part sports bar, part nightclub—the party was already bumping when the FREESKIER squad rolled in from Snowvana, still buzzing from a day’s worth of ski movies. DJ Juggernaut threw it down on the ones-and-twos, playing some of today’s best hip-hop and dance music, and gear giveaways from Zipline, Kari Traa, Goldwin, Montucky Cold Snacks, Icelantic, Ski Town All-Stars and Lifeproof had the crowd reeling in delight.

Reflecting on all six stops, the FREESKIER crew can’t thank the venues, DJs and musicians, brands who provided gear to give away and, of course, all of the people who came out to celebrate skiing enough. Big ups to our radical moviemaking partners, Matchstick Productions and Level 1 Productions, too. See you all in the mountains!
