Ski mountaineer extraordinaire and regular Freeskier Magazine contributor Brody Leven has signed with Salomon. Leven, a four season athlete, will be representing Salomon’s ski, apparel, and footwear lines.
“Like me, Salomon is committed to moving more efficiently in the mountains, and they are creating products that allow people to do just that,” says Leven. “In the past, I’ve seen our commitment to a 4-season, human-powered approach to mountain pursuits as parallel. Now they’ve intersected.”
Leven formerly represented Surface Skis, as well as O’Neill outerwear. The Chesterland, Ohio native has recently logged descents on Denali, in Iceland, Ukraine, Patagonia, Romania, and other far off locations around the world. Leven is also a social media guru, be sure to follow him on Twitter and Instagram. We look forward to seeing Brody tackle steep, minimally snow covered lines in the near future.
Press Release, Ogden, Utah, December 16, 2013:
Salomon, the leader in technical design and innovation in mountain sports, has signed ski mountaineer and storyteller Brody Leven to its US athlete team. Leven is an official Salomon four season athlete, representing the brand’s alpine and outdoor product lines, including skis, apparel, protective and running footwear.
“Like me, Salomon is committed to moving more efficiently in the mountains, and they are creating products that allow people to do just that,” says Brody Leven. “In the past, I’ve seen our commitment to a 4-season, human-powered approach to mountain pursuits as parallel. Now they’ve intersected.”
In the last year Leven logged remarkable adventures in Denali, Iceland, Ukraine, Patagonia, South America, Romania, Whistler, and Mt. Hood. Leven will strongly impact the Salomon brand through his unique storytelling ability. He is a fervent writer, photographer, and social media guru. With more than 26,000 Instagram followers, Leven focuses on his own self-produced content of edits, photos, and videos. He specializes in engaging consumers, and will support the Salomon alpine and outdoor categories across various digital content platforms.
“Brody is a great addition to the Salomon team,” says Mark McCambridge, outdoor consumer marketing manager for Salomon. “His ability to represent Salomon holistically, from the valley floor to alpine peaks, solstice to solstice, gives us a unique opportunity to showcase the breadth of our product offering from alpine to apparel, footwear to protection.”
Leven adds, “I intend to tell the story of how Salomon allows normal people like me to efficiently move in the mountains over snow, dirt, rock, and ice. Salomon has committed to a strategic approach to ski mountaineering. But they’ve taken that approach to everything they build.”
The entrepreneurially-minded Leven lives in Salt Lake City, where he has easy access to the mountains as well as to Salomon’s North American headquarters in Ogden, Utah. He is an avid skier, kayaker, climber, biker and adventurer. You can learn more about Brody Leven at his website www.brodyleven.com.
