Ok, so two days down and 10 more chances to win. Think you are getting a better handle on who this rider might be? Not clear from your answers today, but congratulations to today’s winner Connor Fitzpatrick.
A lot of attention was focused on one rider today – Pete Olenick. In fact, just about 1/3 of you believe that Sweet Pete will be joining the 4FRNT posse. Other interesting names that came up today included all around great guy JP Solberg, Oscar Scherlin, Aussie sensation Russ Henshaw, Colby West, US Open champion AJ Kemppainen and X-Games champions Charles Gagnier and Simon Dumont. Harry Potter even made the list!
Based on the answer to yesterday’s question, neither Sweet Pete nor JP Solberg will be skiing 4FRNT’s next season (unless, of course, they buy them) and they certainly will not help you win TNK’s this month. To the best of our knowledge, those two are the only riders attempting the ol’ Whiskey Flip in competition. With 10 days to go do you really think we’d narrow the field to two? Maybe some of you missed the ‘NOT’ in the question and thought that it had to be Pete or JP. One thread on Newschoolers really picked apart this question starting with a post that tried to narrow the choices by analyzing X-Games Superpipe runs and concluding that Pete Olenick had to be the only choice. Props go out to Matt_D, jollygreengiant and JArens for engaging in a bit of Newschooler Crossfire and figuring out that the question asked about any of the rider’s competition runs, slope and pipe, X-games or not. One thing everyone seemed to miss is that we never said that all of the remaining tricks had to be in the same run. Details, details.
Speaking of details, another Newschooler asked an intriguing question: ‘anyone think its a girl rider? cause in the pic for the contest the skis behind the blacked out rider are women’s skis.‘ Wow! That is some level of detail – picking out the all-new Madonna 165s in the background! Way to go lordofpowtown! Of course, we’re not saying either way until June 21, but it is interesting that Grete Eliassen popped onto the list today. Read those questions carefully if you want to increase your chances at winning the Grand Prize.
To recap, at this point we know that the rider is a slope/pipe athlete and that this rider does not incorporate a Whiskey Flip into his or her pipe run. Today’s question focuses on the age of the rider and promises to be a bit less technical to answer. Is this a true youngster, an aged veteran or something in between? Newschooler ontarioskiingsucks seems to think that ‘[i]t’ll be some older pro who just got dropped by salomon because he only skis pow.’ Is he right? We’ll all have a better idea tomorrow. Remember, every day we will post a new question, related to the athletes identity, on 4FRNT.com. Each question is designed to build upon the information posted from the previous daily questions and provide clues as to this rider’s identity. Daily answers will all be building up to the final 12th question on June 20th. Answers will be posted daily on the site along with names of riders that contestants are guessing. Remember, we’re not telling who it is but we’ll post your guesses. With every daily answer posted, so will be the winner of the daily drawing and the names of who people think it may be.
Prizes (you know, free stuff!!):
Each and every day. one lucky contestant who answers the daily question correctly will win free stuff from shop.4FRNT.com.
