Strap on your skis, brush off your board and dig those goggles out from your closet. Breckenridge Ski Resort kicks off the 2007-2008 season this Friday, Nov. 9 when the lifts start turning at 8:30 a.m.. Come celebrate with a complimentary pancake breakfast, live music and exciting giveaways throughout the day. As with previous opening days, lift ticket proceeds from Friday, Nov. 11 at Breckenridge Ski Resort will be donated to five local charities.

Breckenridge plans to open for the season with the Beaver Run SuperChair, as well as the CamelBack lift The resort will offer a combination of Columbia and Sundown, forming a top-to-bottom experience. Breckenridge Ski & Ride School will also be open for the season, offering lessons on a limited basis at the Beaver Run base area. Services include ticket sales and rental operations at Beaver Run as well as in the Village at Peak 9 base area.

Friday, Nov. 9

Opening Day Schedule:

8 – 10 a.m. Free pancake breakfast at the Beaver Run picnic area, located at the base of the Beaver Run SuperChair, while supplies last. The breakfast includes buttermilk pancakes, choice of warm maple or Boysenberry syrup, freshly brewed coffees, teas, milk and hot chocolate

8 – 11 a.m. Live Mariachi music with Mariachi Real de Mexico at the Beaver Run Chair

Throughout day Ripperoo will entertain guests at the base of the Beaver Run SuperChair

8:30 a.m. First chair

8 -10:30 a.m. KSMT Live Remote

Once again this season, Breckenridge Ski Resort will donate a portion of opening day lift ticket proceeds to local charities including the Dwight Brill Celebration of Life Fund, Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, Mountain Top Children’s Museum, Early Childhood Options and the Family & Intercultural Resource Center. Tickets on opening day are $45 for adults and $29 for children 12 and under.

Breckenridge Ski Resort asks that skiers and riders observe all posted signs and warnings, especially during the early season. Closed trails may contain hazards due to early snow coverage. Please keep off closed trails and out of closed areas for safety reasons.
