Day 2 of the Red Bull Cold Rush went down today in Silverton, Colorado, under sunny skies and mostly bluebird conditions. Slopestyle was the event for the day, taking place in the “Mando” area of Silverton Mountain with 4 massive jumps built by Pep Fujas alongside a 14-man crew. Picture four perfectly manicured park jumps, in a backcountry setting, with cameras everywhere and Red Bull helicopters providing rides to the top, and that was the setting for the day.

While some chose to play it safe today, others chose to send it deep into the sun baked Silverton snow. Sean Pettit, Dane Tudor, Tim Durtschi, and Blake Nyman were just a few of the aforementioned skiers testing the limits of backcountry booter physics, while girls like Grete Eliassen and Suzanne Graham held their own against the boys. Ultimately it was Tim Durtschi who would take home the victory for today’s slopestyle event, with enormous airs and enough conviction in his skiing to send home even the most confident of competitors.

Tomorrow marks the third and final day of the Red Bull Cold Rush with the last event remaining; the cliffs. Accessible only by helicopter, both athletes and media personnel will watch as the world’s best skiers battle it out in what will no doubt be an impressive display of skiing ability at its finest!
