The best week in all of skiing is right around the corner. Yes, Kimbo Sessions is kicking off with an all-new Open Jam from April 24 - 26, followed by the big session going down April 26 - May 3 at Sweden's finest, Kläppen Snowpark.
If you're unfamiliar, Kimbo Sessions is a decade-old gathering hosted by Kim Boberg. The storied Armada rider has etched his way into freeski fame through his creative approach to street and park, outlined by one of the most relentless work ethics we've ever seen. Like a superpark session of the modern age, Kimbo Session brings together a handful of pros from around the globe for a week of heavy riding and strong community.
Anticipation is exceptionally high this year, too, as Kimbo 2025 was canceled due to poor conditions. The return brings with it both the addition of the Open Jam, in which one talented rider will secure an invite to the main event, as well as the first-ever Kimbo Sessions Video Qualifier. Tons of skiers pumped out submissions earlier this winter and fall, and in February, it was announced that Mainio Ormio took the top spot as ordained by Boberg himself.
The event is a strong reminder that the heart of freeskiing is alive and thriving; you just have to know where to look for it. Will the Kimbo Kitchen return? Will P White arrive and throw another quad backy? What features will the Kläppen crew cook up? Only time will tell, but we'll know soon enough! Stay tuned for more Kimbo coverage in the coming days.
