The Shift Alpha BOA 130 is a high-performing backcountry boot that joins the established Shift collection to offer a narrower option for aggressive skiers who want to explore the backcountry with top-notch downhill performance. The shell is equipped with all the essentials for a hybrid touring boot: tech inserts in the toe and heel, a fully-rubberized sole for boot-packing agility and two lightweight buckles on the upper cuff. The liner also gets some contemporary love with a hybrid touring design for smoother ankle movement and an adjustable tongue for a more precise fit. The shell features a narrow, 98-mm last in the forefoot and an extremely snug heel, keeping your foot locked in when skiing hard. Both shell and liner utilize Custom Shell HD and My Custom Fit 4D for some of the best boot customization in the industry. The Custom Shell HD can expand the boot’s last up to 104-mm, furthering the precise forefoot and heel fit To enhance comfort in such a close fit, Salomon has incorporated the increasingly popular BOA Fit System for precision tightening of the shell, improving heel retention and preventing blisters during long days with significant vert. The Twinlock hiking mechanism has been enlarged for improved durability and ease-of-use with gloves. Providing great range-of-motion when touring, the Twinlock is paired with Salomon’s Freespine, a robust piece of plastic that links the cuff and shell for an improved and progressive flex.
