Paragon 101
Kästle
$999.00
Kästle designed the brand new unisex Paragon series using their knowledge of what makes a front-side carving weapon and applying it to a freeride-oriented ski. The Paragon 101 calls to the aggressive rider, someone who tears into steep terrain without hesitation, looking to pop off cliffs and land confidently at high speeds.
As the sport of freeride continues to demand a ski that provides a more energetic tip with stability underfoot, the legendary group of Austrian ski wizards at Kästle have stepped up to the plate to deliver their take on a versatile, high performance ski. Like all three skis in the Paragon line, the 101 features a traditional and directional shape. This lends itself to producing exceptional edge grip and control in a variety of conditions.
The ski has two sheets of metal which provide stability underfoot, and throughout the ski you’ll find intricate layers of poplar, beech and paulownia in the core. The early-rise tip and slightly rockered tail enable its freeride capabilities and the shovel of the ski gives you float in deeper snow, as well as chewed-up, less-than-optimal conditions.
A more traditional mounting point ensures that the ski has a lengthy effective edge that delivers an 18-meter turn radius (at 182 cm) and Kästle’s HOLLOWTECH 2.0 delivers 30-percent less movement, otherwise known as chatter, in the tip. This means the early-rise serves you well in the deep end without folding on you at speeds on the hard pack. That’s innovation that excites us.
The Paragon 101 brilliantly pulls design elements from Kästle’s book of directional ski knowledge, while adding in pieces of modern freeride progression. This ski gives advanced skiers the tool they need to push their skiing across variable terrain, finding style and perfection in every turn. When considering that, it’s clear that the Paragon 101 lives up to its name.
