On Monday, slopestyle competitors had their first chance to test out the features that comprise the Olympic slopestyle course, erected at Rosa Khutor Alpine Resort. The initial wave of social media blasts from the athletes indicates widespread support for the course layout and the “massive” features. And while there have been reports that some of the women are struggling to contend with the jumps, given the jumps’ large sizes, the photos below suggest everyone is having a generally darn good time, of late. Oh, and the athletes certainly haven’t passed up the opportunity to shred pow elsewhere at the ski area; some of those shots are included in the mix, as well.
Freeskier will be traveling to Sochi later this week; stay tuned for continued coverage of freeskiing’s Olympic debut.
