50 mega-deep Instagrams from Utah’s latest storm cycle
It just keeps coming down in Utah… Several resorts in the Wasatch range—Snowbird and Alta, for example—have received over six feet of snow in the past week and the collection of media we’ve seen over said week is just stupid-good. Below, browse through 50 of the very best Instagram posts we’ve seen as of late; each and every one is amazing, to say the least.
All of this snow in Utah makes the FREESKIER crew especially stoked, because our annual ski test is going down at Snowbird from March 5-11. At the test, we’ll be hammering on 300-plus pairs of next year’s skis that are in the running for our 2018 Buyer’s Guide. Not subscribed to our magazine? Change that right now and click here.
A few shots from the flagstaff gap. There has been a gap revival going on in Utah and it's inspiring us to get out there and find new gaps….. there is so much to explore out there it is inevitable that with the right eye you'll find something new! ⛳️ 📷📷📷📷📷Photo: @awsm_austin @sagaouterwear @atomicski @smithoptics @hiballenergy #windupfilms #krisostness #skiing #gapjumps #flyingcircus #teddybearcrisis #atomicski #sagaouterwear #smithoptics
We received 8" of snow last night and we are expecting another 8" – 18" of light, fluffy Utah #powder in the next 48 hours. It's going to be an incredible week of skiing at #PowMow! Due to high winds last night and over 5 feet of snow during this past week, Paradise Lift, Cobabe Canyon, Lighting Ridge and Powder Country will have to be carefully controlled this morning. Expect mid to late openings for these areas. 4wd vehicles with good tires or chains are needed to get up Pow Mow road. Please use the UTA! ⛷ @harwood247 📷 @dcaseyfoto #beutahful #ogdenvalley #preservingthepow #skiutah #ogdenvalley #edenutah #powdermountain
It was nuking almost all day today, and it was country club because the road closed…and almost unbelievably the sky cracked us a blue sucker hole for all of two minutes, just after we'd gone in and grabbed the camera, @bucksnorts couldn't believe it, neither could I, it was gone before anyone else could go…. @altaskiarea
Exposed. -25 degree windchill, spindrift, blasting gusts. A few hundred feet from here the couloir turned into a mess of dangerous wind slabs and ice. Not worth it. The weather had gone from worse to worst. Besides, bailing is a proper past time. Wheeler Peak is an amazingly impressive mountain. 📸 @j.hunter_nicholas #goingback #professionalcavers #t&d's #chicarrones
