Press Release:

SubQ Designs, a new backcountry performance outerwear company focused on breakthrough integrated safety design, announces its brand launch with first to market product reveal, the Jackson Airbag Jacket.

“The Jackson Airbag Jacket is the result of over three years of technology design and rigorous development testing,” said Corbin Redli, founder of SubQ Designs. “The Jackson Airbag is designed to equip experienced backcountry and side country travelers with a lighter, versatile and overall more efficient backcountry safety system.”

The new performance jacket is built with a complete ABS® avalanche airbag system and is designed for the everyday backcountry skier, snowboarder and snowmobiler with safety and performance as top priority. The whole system is constructed out of an outer shell, an inner vest harness and various accessories, and the shell and harness interact though strategic openings in the shell. The ABS airbag system, the harness and the clip-on shovel/ probe carrier can all be attached or removed for personalization of the setup, depending on usage needs for the day ahead.

“Versatility and breathability are the key features in this SubQ Designs jacket,” continued Redli. “Combining outerwear with the convenience of an interior vest that contains your beacon, probe, shovel and ABS airbag all wrapped up into one produces one very efficient backcountry jacket.”

The Jackson Airbag Jacket features rugged construction, and the advanced support structure of the SubQ vest allows for minimal swing weight. The total weight of the system (jacket, vest, ABS airbag system) is 8 pounds, 11 ounces.

Other key features of the jacket include:

In an emergency situation, the ABS Twinbags can help to stay on top of an avalanche.”
