[WATCH] Rare sighting of a skiing Melon Bear

In Japan, mascots are often used for promoting stores, restaurants and other establishments, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Police. Mount Racey at Yubari Ski Resort is no exception. “Melon Kuma,” which directly translates to “Melon Bear,” is the funny and slightly scary mascot for the town of Yubari in Hokkaido, Japan, which is known for its melons and bears. Follow Melon Kuma as he explores the many splendors at Mount Racey in the first episode of SnowLocals’ Yubari web series.
