Here at FREESKIER, we do our best to convey to our readers just how dangerous backcountry skiing really is. Today, we are continuing to push that message via a humbling avalanche rescue video that just came across our radar, above, from Châtel, France.
The 12-minute video captures everything: the avalanche, the search and the rescue. And, though it’s long, we suggest you watch the whole thing. This is just a glimpse of what happens when things go wrong in the backcountry and the scariest part is that it can be much, much worse—especially for those who aren’t educated.
