Episode 2 of Aspen/Snowmass’ Our Story, details the Coal Mine Methane Project. Aspen/Snowmass invested in a three-megawatt power plant in Somerset, CO, that captures and combusts waste methane gas from the mine and converts it into energy to help power the ski resort. The video also features Aspen/Snowmass athletes Aidan Sheahan and Matt Walker greasing a rail at the mine and commentary from Auden Schendler, Aspen’s VP of Sustainability (you may remember Schendler from Sherpas Cinema’s 2011 flick, All.I.Can).
