In the trailer for the new film The Sky Piercer from New Zealand-based production company CoLab Creative, professional skiers Sam Smoothy, Nadine Wallner, Fraser McDougall and snowboarder Xavier DeLeRue set out to ascend and ski the East Face of Mt. Cook–New Zealand’s tallest mountain. Part of the Southern Alps, which run the entire length of the South Island, 12,218-foot Mt. Cook is notorious for having some of the most violent weather in the country. Watch the full movie on Redbull TV on November 16 to find out if the team was able to make a successful ascent and ski-descent or if Mother Nature kept these riders grounded.
