“If you were to stack Hoji’s films segments on end, you’d unquestionably have one of the most impressive performances in the history of the sport,” says the narrator in the trailer for Matchstick Productions’ (MSP) upcoming biopic, HOJI.
This is no exaggeration: Eric Hjorleifson has been at the helm of backcountry skiing for nearly two decades, pushing himself and his off-piste partners into some of the most remote, awe-inspiring skiable terrain on Earth.
“Audiences can expect a inside look at Eric’s career and highlights from over the years. The film will also feature scenes from the interior of British Columbia from the winter of 2018. Eric invited influential figures in his life from his youth ski coach to his current backcountry ski partners and family members,” described MSP in a recent press release.
Directed by legendary filmmaker Scott Gaffney and starring Eric Hjorleifson, Chris Rubens, James Heim, Michelle Parker, Mark Abma, Markus Eder and a handful more of Hoji’s best friends, HOJI is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
The film will debut on October 17th in Boulder, Colorado.
