If skiing had a list of saviors, prophets, kings or queens, Kim Boberg would rank high. While his talent on the sticks is second to none, one could argue that his beloved place in the community is not due to his skiing but to his devotion to the culture and all it encompasses. Yes, projects like “Butterfly” are famous amongst the ski world, but Kimbo Sessions is his namesake, no pun intended.
Held (almost) each year in Kläppen, Sweden, Kimbo Sessions brings together a group of the finest skiers from around the globe. It’s a true coming together for some of the most impressive and dedicated in freeskiing. Riders trek in from North America, Europe and beyond to gather around a legendary, unique build in the springtime sun. While this year’s weather started out a bit damp, the vibes remained high and the skiing remained insane. Hell, even the food in Kimbo’s Kitchen looked divine.
Take a look inside the surreal experience that took place from April 28 – May 5, 2024. These first two recap videos likely won’t be the last, so keep your eyes peeled for more.. we hope. Thank you to Kimbo and everyone involved for keeping Kimbo Sessions thriving. The distances people travel, the effort put in to cultivate and host, it’s all reflected in the outcome.
