Exciting news from the Freeride World Tour (FWT) as it has officially announced the event schedule for the 2017-18 competition season. Kicking things off with two new stops in Hakuba, Japan and Kicking Horse, Golden, BC, Canada, 31 FWT athletes in two categories—ski men and ski women—will travel across three continents in hopes of claiming the freeride title in Verbier, Switzerland in spring 2018.

The FWT is one of the most exciting action sports events happening in the industry today. With roots in events such as the World Extreme Skiing Championships, skiers from across the globe are faced with the difficult task of choosing his or her line down a designated, big-mountain face. Winners at each location are determined by a panel of judges looking for difficulty of line, control, fluidity, jumps and technique.

Freeride World Tour is a high-energy, fast-paced competition circuit that never ceases to entertain, so be sure to keep a close eye on the outcome of these events as the 2017-18 season gets underway in mid-January.
