“CONSONANCE” – Find Balance Amongst Chaos in These Clean Turns

Featured Image: Iz La Motte | Skier: Erin Spong

Skiing is about finding the right balance, and this extends far beyond the hill. If you’re not able to slow down and breathe off the hill, you won’t be able to focus when it really matters. There are many ways skiers express this harmony, and the new film from Sara Beam Robbins, Iz La Motte and Erin Spong dives into the idea of balance by taking us on a surrealist trip. “CONSONANCE” is a journey into the minds of these three women as they showcase both “fast and slow pacing… soft and powerful expression.”

From YouTube:

According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of consonance is “harmony or agreement among components,” as well as “correspondence or recurrence of sounds.” A balance between fast and slow pacing, soft and powerful expression, CONSONANCE dances the line between harmonized breath and movement.

A film by: Sara Beam Robbins and Iz La Motte

Filmed in the Portneuf range of southeast Idaho, the historical land of the Shoshone-Bannock tribes.
