“The skis and the boots are the two most fundamental tools for any skier. That’s your connection to the snow. That’s what matters.” This quote from Chris Davenport opens episode two of the “Faces of Dav” web series, titled The Engineer. The episode sees Dav build his own pair of custom Scarpa Freedom SL boots and Kästle FX 94 skis while on a trip to the Alps. Both pieces of gear were developed with heavy input from the Aspen, Colorado-based skier, who also happens to be a part owner of the Austrian ski manufacturer.
