Chris Benchetler and GoPro have teamed up on a four-part video series dubbed Chasing El Niño; each of the edits therein will highlight Benchetler’s quest to find the best snow conditions up and down the U.S. West Coast and across Canada during the 2015-16 snow season.

In episode one, “California’s Comeback,” Bench’ shreds up a storm on his home turf—Mammoth Mountain and its surrounding backcountry. He explores areas of the Sierra Nevada that have been inaccessible for years due to severe drought. You’ll enjoy double backies, rodeo 5s, flat 3s, nose butters, creamy turns and sled airs, all shot on the HERO4 camera.
