SPY adds Canadian Maude Raymond to its athlete roster

SPY has added French Canadian powerhouse Maude Raymond to its athlete team. Raymond’s Maad Maude web series proved to be a huge hit throughout the 2013-14 season, and the skier is starting the 2014-15 season off strong by adding SPY to her list of sponsors. The Canadian was named FREESKIER’s female Skier of the Year in 2013, and she aims to have yet another progressive season filming and skiing this winter.

“I couldn’t ask for a better eyewear crew to work with,” says Maude Raymond. “SPY’s mantra of having a happy disrespect for the usual way of looking at life is so refreshing. It really resonates on a personal level and makes me stoked to be with SPY. Plus, I love the Happy Lens!”

Sounds like it’s a pretty darn nice fit. Join us in congratulating Ms. Raymond. We’re stoked to see what she comes up with, this season. Her vision will be impeccable with that nice, new Happy Lens.

Carlsbad, California — SPY® is happy to announce style maestro Maude Raymond will now don Happy Lens™ snow goggles as the newest addition to SPY’s pro ski team.

Named Freeskier Magazine’s Female Skier of the Year in 2013, Maude has become one of the most stylish and well-renowned female skiers known for her air game, rail prowess and passion for progression. Setting the internet ablaze with her webisode series Maad Maude, Raymond showcased her smooth and confident style from the mountains of Colorado to the coast of California and beyond during the 2013-14 season. In addition to her filming exploits, Maude was also invited to compete in the prestigious Nine Queens Invitational in the Italian Alps, where she laid it down on a perfect step-over amongst an elite field of females.

Testing her mettle in several elite men’s contests around the globe—including Red Bull Foret Urbaine in Mont-Tremblant, Timberline’s West Coast Session and Bear Mountain’s War of Rails—Maude will continue to push the boundaries of conventional women’s skiing, focusing on filming, competing in select events and drawing creative lines throughout the 14/15 season.

“Maude’s attitude and style, both on and off the hill, perfectly reflect those of SPY,” says Andrew Thomas, SPY Ski Team Manager. “Her skiing speaks volumes about the fun and unique individual that she is, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome her to the SPY family.”

Bringing her upbeat energy to SPY’s world-class ski team, Maude joins style gurus Ahmet Dadali, Wiley Miller, Adam Delorme, and JF Houle, as well as a lengthy list of talented SPY amateurs.
