The 2016 4-Star Taos Freeride Championships went down this weekend at Taos Ski Valley this weekend. Beginning Thursday, March 3 through Saturday, March 5, the event showcased big-mountain action from a collection of hard chargers seeking freeskiing fame. The skiers took to the ragged chutes and cliffs of Taos’ West Basin and Kachina Peak. Below, you’ll find the results from day one of the contest, where American Ashley Babcock and Daniel McFadden claimed victory among the lengthy, hungry athlete roster.
