Saga Outerwear has added two-time X Games slopestyle medalist McRae Williams to its stacked roster of athletes that includes names like Wiley Miller, Tim Durtschi, Tim McChesney, Steve Stepp, John Kutcher and Nicky Keefer. The signing signifies a different approach for Saga, which usually stays away from the competition scene when signing athletes, but according to the brand, “it was time for Saga to fill this gap in our team and McRae [is] the perfect man for the job.”

Over the summer McRae approached us with the idea of making a home with Saga. After bouncing around a bit from one outerwear sponsor to another and getting some serious momentum with recent X Games medals and invites to the US Olympic team, he wanted to find a brand he could make a new home with. Living in Salt Lake City made Saga one of his first choices.

In the past we have traditionally steered away from big name competition riders as we didn’t really see any of them fitting in with the Saga attitude and brand style. But after talking with McRae, hearing his goals and outlook on life/skiing we realized finding that it was time for Saga to fill this gap in our team and McRae would be the perfect man for the job.

We’re very excited for him to bring Saga to a new stage and can’t wait to see him on the podiums this year. A place where our clothing is seldom seen.
