Mammoth Mountain, California, has announced that it will be extending 2024/25 winter operations into June. With plans to originally close on May 25, the news comes as a grand surprise. In a social media post on May 8, the resort confirmed there is no official closing date, and that they’ll continue to spin lifts as long as the snow holds.

Mammoth Unbound is keeping the pink rails alive into June

Mammoth has reportedly received around 300″ of snow this year, but we’d bump that total up a bit at higher areas on the mountain. Spring has been kind to the Sierra Nevada Mountains however, with temps staying reasonably mild and a few late season storms passing through.

The next 10 days look promising for keeping conditions skiable, with temperatures staying around 50°F and a cold spell coming in around Monday, 5/12. That should give the snow a slight recent and slow down melting for a short period of time.

Right now, you can ski at Mammoth from 7:30 AM until 2:00 PM, with the exception of the Unbound Express Six Chairlift being open from 8:30 AM until 3:00 PM. The resort still has a whopping 80 trails open and three terrain parks running daily. If you’re in the area, now is the time to harvest those turns at one of the best spring destinations in the world!

The resort has also announced that its bike park will open for the season on May 23rd as well as the Sierra Star Golf Course, meaning YOU could check off the triple action check list; ski, sike and golf all in the same day over Memorial Day weekend and beyond. Get the full scoop right here
