Kemppainen and D. Logan top Winter Games NZ halfpipe podium

The first FIS World Cup medals of the 2013/14 freeskiing season have been awarded—Saturday at Cardrona Ski Resort in New Zealand, amid stormy conditions, Finland’s AJ Kemppainen topped the men’s podium, with Colorado’s Aaron Blunck placing second, and Taylor Seaton nabbing third. On the women’s side Devin Logan emerged victorious—impressive, given her recent comeback from knee surgery—while Angeli Vanlaanen stole second, and Switzerland’s Mirjam Jaeger placed third.

The Winter Games NZ mark the first contest of the 2013/14 AFP World Tour. An FIS sanctioned World Cup, this contest is a Platinum-rated AFP event. Stay tuned for a full recap—coming soon.
