Throughout the month of September, we teamed up with Planks Clothing to find a #PlanksLocalHero—a skier who might not yet be on the national radar but who is well known among local shred circles. Skiers were encouraged to upload a photo or video via Instagram that showed why they deserved to win a Planks kit and a new pair of sticks from Folsom skis. Public votes whittled down the 100+ entries to a list of ten, which was then voted on by the FREESKIER crew. In the end, it was Justin Petricko of Moon Township, Pennsylvania who came out on top. Petricko is an up-and-coming skier out of Seven Springs, PA whose park skills and willingness to get sendy caught the eyes of the judges.
For his efforts, Petricko will take home a prize pack that includes the following:
- Planks Yeti Hunter Jacket and Bib Pant or Planks Good Times Jacket and Pant
- (2) Planks T-shirts
- Planks Ride-In Padded Shirt
- Planks Cap and Beanies
- Planks x Nalgene Colab Water Bottle
- Custom designed Planks x Folsom Skis
