Full press release from High Fives:

The High Fives Non-Profit Foundation announces the 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament hosted at the Copper Creek Country Club, at Copper Mountain, presented by Phunkshun Wear, GoPro and Kind Design.

High Fives Foundation, the nationally recognized mountain action sports non-profit provides resources and inspiration to mountain action sports athletes living with life-altering injuries. Last year, this event raised over $34,000 for High Fives’ mission.

To date, the organization has given funds to 114 athletes from 23 states, including Eagle Colorado 16-year-old, Kailyn Forsberg who injured her spinal cord at the USASA National Freeskiing Championship at Copper Mountain. The Vail-Eagle community has rallied around her to raise funds towards her recovery.

“Tournaments like these help us tell our story, and more, it directly benefits the athletes who need it,” said Roy Tuscany, Executive Director of the High Fives Foundation. “We’re so grateful to be in Colorado this time of year in this community that likes to have fun.”

The golf tournament is open to 36 teams (of four golfers per team) to compete for prizes provided by sponsors and donors. Throughout the day there are an array of on-course challenges like Flop Wall, Baseball Bat Longest Drive, Putting Contest and a Hole-in-One competition.

To register a team, go to cogolf.highfivesfoundation.org. All proceeds support mountain action sports athletes who have suffered severe spinal cord or traumatic brain injuries.

Following the 10:00am registration, the day’s events will kick off with lunch and a “Flop Wall” competition sponsored by EPS Doublet and SPY.

“Last year was our first year doing a Colorado golf tournament, and it was really successful,” said Jay Badgley owner of Phunkshun Wear. “The support this year is even greater, and it’s because people here really want to help athletes in recovery.”

Following the golf tournament, a special catered after party will be hosted at Copper Station
