James “Woodsy” Woods set to compete in slopestyle, despite recent hip injury

As first reported by the BBC, British slopestyle skiing competitor James “Woodsy” Woods will compete in Thursday’s slopestyle event from Sochi, despite taking a gnarly crash and suffering a hip injury last week. Woodsy was unable to participate in the entirety of Monday’s slopestyle practice, but according to British team officials, will still compete in the event on Thursday.

“James has received physiotherapy and medical treatment for a hip injury,” says Chief medical officer for Team Britain, Niall Elliott. “He returned to training today as expected. He didn’t complete all the training but this was very much part of the plan.”
