On Friday, October 17 the High Fives Foundation will premiere its latest B.A.S.I.C.S. (Being. Aware. Safe. In. Critical. Situations.) film documentary #KnowYourPark in Truckee, California. On top of the #KnowYourPark film, the screening will also feature two additional High Fives films, The Giray Dadali Story as well as The Cody Walker Story, two accounts of freeskiers recovering from severe injuries.

#KnowYourPark is a public service announcement, filmed and edited in a documentary format to educate snow sport athletes of all ages about the inherent risks and rewards of skiing and riding within the terrain park. Five core values will be presented within the film: Know Your Protection, Know Your Conditions, Know Your Terrain Park Features, Know Your Ability and Know Your Etiquette,” states the High Fives Foundation in a recent press release (below).

The event will be very informative and aims to move the sport of freeskiing in a positive direction while promoting safe skiing habits. So, if you happen to be in northern California on Friday, do yourself a favor—check out the event and spread the awareness.
