The European Freeski Open has announced its return to the AFP World Tour for the 2014-15 season. The event will take place at Laax Ski Resort in Laax, Switzerland, March 19-21. Laax, Switzerland—After the glorious resumption in March 2014 the European Freeski Open is again an integral part of the calendar of the upcoming winter-season in LAAX, Switzerland. Dated from March 19 to 21, 2015 the AFP gold event will offer a slopestyle competition for men and women.
Riders, spectators, industry professionals and media sources were enthusiastic by the revival of the European Freeski Open in March 2014. The 8th edition of the event will take place from March 19 to 21, 2015. The slopestyle competition with rankings for women and men includes a prize-money of CHF 30,000. All able to ride the Pro Line Snowpark Curnius rail-features and kicker-line and who will challenge the seeded pro-riders, can participate in the contest.
Among the event’s previous winners are international champions such as Jesper Tjäder (SWE, 2014), Elias Ambühl (SUI, 2011), Henrik Harlaut (SWE, 2009), Russ Henshaw (AUS, 2008), Jossi Wells (NZL, 2007), Candide Thovex (FRA, 2006) and Virginie Faivre (SUI, 2006-2011). The event enjoys also popularity at the talented riders from all over Europe. Thanks to the contest format newcomers have the chance to match the stars of the sport. And every year some of the up-coming riders surprise with amazing skills! At the 8th European Freeski Open next spring-time the riders will bring lots of style and spirit up on Crap Sogn Gion mountain. That’s for sure!
