Press Release:
The summer is always an exciting time for ski resorts, not only as summer business continues to grow, but it is also a time when resorts are putting capital resources toward improvements. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is especially thrilled to announce a project underway for a new umbrella bar installation at the mid-mountain Ten Peaks location; to be ready for the 2015-2016 winter season. The bar, along with a large deck seating area, new restrooms and a new cook cabin are all part of the million dollar project. The area is further complimented by the breathtaking 360 degree views, making it one of the most picturesque bars in Colorado ski country.
The Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks will feature glass walls, a 35-foot diameter retractable umbrella roof, and seating for 75 people. Additionally, there will be a 2,400 square foot deck area for outdoor seating, along with a food cabin and new restrooms; offering plenty of space to enjoy the sunshine and views with great food and drinks in a very unique setting.
Menu highlights include fish tacos, grilled panini sandwiches and gourmet sausages. There will be a full-service bar with six beers on tap and since the umbrella bar is manufactured in Austria, they will also serve the classic Austrian mulled wine, known as Gluehwein.
“We wanted to create a unique place at this premier spot on the mountain,” explains Larry Pirner, director of culinary operations at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. “We invite guests to come and enjoy some mountain hospitality, the best views in the west, and some great hand-crafted food. To add a fun European tradition, every afternoon a blast from a genuine Alphorn will welcome skiers and rider to the Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks, reminding all that it is time for après ski to begin at this must-visit new location at the resort.”
