After recent dump, Chile’s Valle Nevado plans to open July 15

After Valle Nevado got pounded by over 31 inches of new snow, they will be opening for the season on Wednesday, July 15. The hotels and restaurants in the area will not open until July 17, but the resort will open with the majority of its lifts for public access. For an even sweeter deal, Valle Nevado will be offering a 40% off ski package for the week of August 21 – 28. Pack your bags and get ready to head south for a little summer relief. Seriously, though. Do it.

Press Release:

Due to a heavy storm that left 31 inches of new snow in the central Chilean Andes, Valle Nevado has announced plans to open the ski resort on Wednesday, July 15. Although the resort’s hotels and all restaurants will open this Friday, July 17, Valle Nevado will open most lifts, including Mirador, Escondida, Candonga, and Prado, and food stands, several restaurants, and all gear rental areas and stores. Despite the season opening delay, Valle Nevado is expecting excellent conditions for 2015 due to the arrival of the El Niño phenomenon that portends bountiful snow throughout the winter.

Valle Nevado also announces an incredible promotional deal of 40% off ski packages for the week August 21 – 28 in the resort’s Hotel Puerta del Sol and Hotel Valle Nevado. Rates start at USD $1,508 per person, double occupancy, and include 7 nights’ lodging, 8 days’ lift tickets, daily breakfast and dinner, and access to all facilities. The promotion is not valid for single rooms or suites, or the Hotel Tres Puntas, and interested skiers and snowboarders should book soon as availability is limited.
