Southern Utah’s Brian Head Resort will be extending its 2024/25 ski season, offering a bonus weekend of skiing. The resort was originally scheduled to close May 4, but thanks to “strong snowfall and high visitation throughout April,” lifts will be spinning again Friday, May 9, through Sunday, May 11.
This is no ordinary extension, as it marks a historic date for Brian Head. “The new closing date sets a resort record with 181 skiable days,” the ski area announced. “With nearly half a year of skiing and snowboarding, the 2024/25 season is the longest in Brian Head Resort’s 60-year history.”

Located far from Salt Lake City, Brian Head is a ski oasis in the deserts of Southern Utah. The operation sits in the Southeast corner of the state, and while it might not seem like much from afar, it’s well worth the trip for anyone in the area. What the resort lacks in steep vert it more than makes up for in fun groomers, surfy terrain and a welcoming atmosphere.
And did we mention affordable? Bonus weekend lift tickets are available online for under $25. A ticket purchase includes a $10 resort credit that can be put towards food, drink, retail or rental options. Plus, kids under 12 ride for free the whole season. Get out and harvest those turns while you can!
