Woodward at Copper plans renovations and improvements prior to start of 2013 summer camp

Copper Mountain is looking to improve its facilities by expanding indoor and on-mountain offerings for all action sports. Copper looks to transform winter sports training and summer action sports as well.

The Woodward at Copper Barn will receive a major upgrade before the 2013 summer camp season begins. All current synthetic snow surfaces will be replaced with a wheel friendly material that will boost jumping progression for BMX riders, mountain bikes, and skateboards. In addition to these improvements, a new foam pit will be added next to the current big jump line. Along with the foam pit, the 2-foot and 4-foot jump drop-in platforms are designed to aid the development of beginner park skills. The final indoor renovation consists of doubling the size of the street area, allowing for full access by skis and snowboards, BMX, mountain bike and skateboards. Two new viewing areas will give spectators a direct sight into the action below.

Thanks to a new summer chairlift, campers will have full access to a jib park on snow with a handful of radical features. BMX and skate programs will also move outside and summer campers will have access to an outdoor mini-ramp. Summer camps can be booked immediately with limited availability for all action sports and digital media camps. New campers who book by March 28 will be able to save $100.
