The Wire: Tom Wallisch Re-Signs With Scott Sports For Three Years

Tom Wallisch, known for his fluid style, smooth landings, two film segments last year and gold medal performance at last year's European X Games, has decided to re-up his contract with Sun Valley ski, pole and optics makers, Scott Sports. 2009/10 was Wallisch's first full winter on Scott Sports products and the two teamed up to produce the Tom Wallisch pro model Fix Goggle, which is available in stores now.

"I'm super happy to ink a new deal and be on board for another three years. It's a great company to be a part of and I look forward to a lot of cool new products in the future," says Tom.

Wallisch, who hails from Pittsburgh, PA and resides in Salt Lake City, UT, is the reigning 2010 Freeskier Skier of the Year, after a banner competition and filming season. 2011 hasn't been quite as auspicious to Tom as he currently sits in 36th on the AFP Slopestyle list, after a fractured scapula sidelined him for roughly a month, causing him to miss the Winter Dew Tour in Killington and X Games 15. He finished 4th at the first stop of this season's Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge.

Currently, Wallisch boasts a now healthy body as he looks forward to the European X Games in mid-March, where he'll defend his slopestyle gold medal. You can catch Tom's film performances from last year in Level 1's Eye Trip and Field Production's Side by Side. As with his current pro model goggle (see above), Wallisch has been seen sporting a new colorway of his signature Fix goggle (see up top), likely to be copped sometime next fall when ski shops start opening up for the 2011/12 season. Tom and teammate Rosalind Groenewoud are the only two North American's who ride for Scott skis.

"When we signed Tom here at SCOTT, we had every intention of making him a home for the rest of his career. Extending the contract for another three years is just another step towards that goal," says SCOTT Team Manager Kevin Kruse.

In addition to Wallisch's numerous competition results, he has won the Coast Make Me Famous contest, Level 1's Superunknown IV contest and along with Simon Dumont and Alex Schlopy, won the People's Choice Award at the 2010 Jon Olsson Super Sessions.
