How do skiers and riders from the heartland of America make it? Do we like rectangle shaped states, snow from a hose and little hard packed hill? The riders from the midwest deal with it and that’s what makes us mighty. Of cousre living in the mountains is a dream of every midwest skier but till that happens there are big positives with growing up a snow rider in Iowa or Minnesota. (1) Season passes are cheap at places like Chestnut Mt. & Sundown or Welsh or Spirit Mt. (2) No lift lines. (3) Half Pipes & Jumps & Terrain Parks that rival the big boys plus the lifts are so short you get more air time. It’s like the Terrain parks have their own private chair lifts. (4) A family of four can ski for as much as it costs one person to ski at say, Vail. (5) The biggest advantage of living in the midwest is attitude, when you don’t have mountains near by to spoil you it makes a person more appretiative, more determined and more fun and more passionate for the sport. You would never know it, but the midwest is a varitable breeding ground for skiers & snow boarders.
AND THEN THERE’S ROAD THE TRIPS.
