VINCENT GAGNIER AND LP SANSFACON WIN COORS LIGHT SAINT-SAUVEUR CHALLENGE

VINCENT GAGNIER AND LP SANSFACON AWARDED FIRST PLACE HONORS IN MONT SAIN-SAUVEUR FIRST-EVER COORS LIGHT SAINT-SAUVEUR CHALLENGE

• Coors Light Saint-Sauveur Challenge Was Held Thursday, March 4th – Saturday March 6th at Mont Saint-Sauveur and Mont Avila.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC —16 years old freeski sensation Vincent Gagnier and filmmaker LP Sansfacon, claimed first place in the Coors Light Saint-Sauveur Challenge held in Mont Saint-Sauveur and Mont Avila. The winning duo were awarded $5000. As part of the competition, the public was able to view all videos on Saturday March 6th at bar du Mont Avila.

Local hero Yan Devo and filmmaker Ben Bolullo of Typhoon Media were awarded second place and received $3000, while Paul Bergeron and Louis-Charles Chartrand took third place and were awarded $1000.

“Filmmakers’ videos showcased a wide variety of creative shots and use of terrain on Mont Saint-Sauveur and Mont Avila,” said JF DuRocher, Coors Light Saint-Sauveur Challenge originator. “Every submission had a different flavor and a different taste, from crazy creative editing to innovative maneuvers, Each and every entry had something different to offer, which made the beauty of such competition. Needless to say, the judges were more than pleased to witness such diversity, originality and creativity!

With a total of 32 video submissions, Coors Light Saint-Sauveur Challenge featured teams of two people, one rider and one filmmaker, utilizing any terrain on Mont Saint-Sauveur and Mont Avila over the course of 3 days, Thursday, March 4th to Saturday, March 6th, in order to create the most unique and original three-minute video. Videos were judged by a select panel of professional judges including JF Cusson, freeski legend and X-Games judge, Charles Boileau, Former Pléhouse films producer and respected filmmaker of Chuck&Twist, Guillaume Beaudoin, editor of Snow-Show.ca and respected snowboarder, Frank Raymond, pro freeskier and Phil Casabon pro freeskier.

“Adding an on-mountain film competition Saint-Sauveur is such a natural fit,” said Francois Cantin of Coors Light. “I am really please to witness such quality and creativity within the movies and with 32 movies created and submitted, we are more than happy about the turn out of the event’’

Coors Light Saint-Sauveur Challenge is presented by Mon Saint-Sauveur, Mont Avila, Coors Light, Snowboarder magazine, Newschoolers.com, Snow-Show.ca, Cab.tv, Ski The East and Studio Power Coach in Saint-Sauveur.
