In early December, outdoor goods retailer evo will open the doors to its new Denver store at 860 Broadway in the iconic Capitol Hill neighborhood. And to spice up the location and give it a unique, ski-inspired feel, the folks at evo recruited artist Kay Flockhart to paint an amazing mural on the store’s main wall out front.
Flockhart works for Faction, designing many of the brand’s women’s topsheets that grace slopes all over the world every winter, so bringing her into play was a no-brainer for evo. To execute the project, she traveled all the way from London and spent a good 90 hours over the course of eight days painting tirelessly. The result is an absolute masterpiece, based off Faction’s ProdigyW ski graphic, stretched across a 50-foot-long wall that Denverites are already appreciating as they walk, drive and bike through the Mile-High City.
The store has partially opened already—its service area is up and running and staffers are doing work on skis and bikes for now. But, in early December, the entire space will come to life. Till then, browse through a video and photo gallery (both found above) created by Level 1 Productions, that showcase the effort both evo and Lockhart put in to make this mural happen.
