We’ve all been there: It snowed two feet overnight or it’s a holiday weekend and at the end of the ski day you feel like you spent more time waiting in lift lines than you did actually skiing. There’s nothing more frustrating than coming down your favorite run to see a swarm of humans all trying to get on the same chair. Vail Resorts is here to make this unfortunate scenario a plight of the past.

Whether you’re just visiting and your ski days are limited or you’re a seasoned local trying to get away from tourists, Vail Resorts is set to launch its new EpicMix Time feature later this month to help you make the most of your valuable time on the mountain.

“Vail Resorts is always investing in the guest experience, including bringing enhanced mobile app functionality to our guests in the palm of their hand,” says John Plack, senior communications manager for Vail and Beaver Creek.

Having spent more than a decade investing in technology, data science and analytics all in the name of improving the guest experience, EpicMix Time is a continuation of those efforts. Located within the EpicMix app, which is available through the app store, skiers now have access to a lift line wait-time forecast at their fingertips to help plan their day and make real-time, on-mountain decisions about where to go.

“We will have both live, real-time wait times, as well as predictive time for the entire day in 15-minute increments,” says Plack. “It also leverages machine learning combined with historic wait times, so its forecast will continue to improve in accuracy throughout the season.”

The EpicMix Time feature is now available at 12 of Vail’s Epic Resorts, including Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia; Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge Keystone and Crested Butte in Colorado; Park City in Utah, Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood in California; as well as Stowe and Okemo in Vermont. Additionally, the EpicMix app will be integrated at all 34 of the conglomerate’s ski resorts in North America to provide skiers on-mountain stats, weather updates, snow cams and other useful features.

Now that Mother Nature has finally started to turn on, the busiest days of the season are on the way. Utilize the new EpicMix Time feature so you never have to worry about getting stuck in one of those horrible chairlift traffic jams we’ve seen go viral on the internet.
